My Homesick Remedy

Originating from Maui, Hawai’i, I came to Nevada to attend university in the arts and business. Occasionally visiting home every summer or for major life events, I savored every piece of what made home, home. From deep into Iao Valley to the shores at Makena Beach, I enjoyed seeing… color!

All the ocean blues, saturated green leaves, and all the colors you can think of growing naturally in someone’s backyard. Maui prides itself on the restoration and preservation of its ecosystem.

With the ever-growing community in Las Vegas from Hawai’i, I enjoy bringing a little piece of our home out here in hopes of aiding those who are homesick like me and being informative about the flowers and foliage that grow back home.

Winter here can feel quite gloomy for many of us who are used to tropical weather all year round. With a little pop of color, I hope we can feel a little more like we have a piece of home out here.
